On April 23, 2026, H.E. Mr. Edward Aníbal P?REZ Reyes, Ambassador of Dominican Republic to Japan, visited Chiba University and gave a lecture on a wide range of topics, including industry, economy and culture.
Japan Association for Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (JAPOLAC) and Chiba University worked together to coordinate the lectures by diplomats at embassies of Latin American and Caribbean countries as part of the course, “Introduction to Latin American and Caribbean Countries with Lectures from Diplomats.”
By receiving lectures directly from the current ambassadors to Japan, students are given the opportunity to learn about life and policies in Latin American countries, as well as the role of diplomats, their duties, and their realities.
This year, we have invited ambassadors from three Latin American countries to give lectures, with the Dominican Republic being the first country.
